Meet Ron Auer

My background
I served nine years in U.S. Air Force telecommunications, leaving as a Technical Sergeant to earn an engineering degree. I later spent 30 years as a systems engineer at the MITRE Corporation before retiring.
My work included system testing, program oversight, and quality assurance. During critical tests, I helped analyze large volumes of data and check the results.
“Good bookkeepers are hard to find.”
A colleague asked if I knew a good bookkeeper and said good ones were hard to find. That got me thinking about returning to bookkeeping.
I had studied accounting and done pencil-and-ledger bookkeeping in my early working years. I opened a QuickBooks Online Accountant account, returned to training, and was surprised how quickly the fundamentals came back. I went on to earn my QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.
I started Watchful Bookkeeping to put that training and my experience with spreadsheets and business software to work for small business owners.
Why I started Watchful
I own and run the business. I hope my family will choose to be part of it someday. For now, I handle the work myself.
As a veteran, I have a special appreciation for veteran-owned businesses. I welcome small business owners of all backgrounds, throughout the United States.
Every dollar, watched over.
